Description
Mostar Bridge is a famous bridge over the Neretva River in Mostar. It was built in 1557, the work of Turkish builder Hayruddin. The1993 during the war it was destroyed. After the restoration in 2004 the bridge is listed on the World Heritage list of UNESCO
The last time I was in the area the war had just started 1991. It was quite scary. It is a classic old world image. I had a photo of it that my uncle gave me when I was like 10. At that time I thought...." someday I will be a good enough artist to paint this scene" So artist dreams do come true. I actually painted this probably in 1989. The original is one painting I still have in my Florida and won't sell.
The FINE ART AMERICA Logo is a copy right protection . IT WILL NOT be printed on your choice of Prints
I love the timeless old world reflection from this ancient bridge and medieval city, near Sarajevo. This is a favorite of many of my art admirers.

Have been demolished. Old Bridge is a famous bridge over the Neretva River in Mostar. It was built between 1557 - 1566, the work of Turkish builder Hayruddin. 9th November 1993rd HVO destroyed the Old Bridge. After the restoration of the 2004th bridge is listed on the World Heritage list of UNESCO. It is known as the main symbol of Mostar and Herzegovina. In addition to this bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina is another well-known bridge, which is located in the town of Visegrad on the Drina River. The famous writer, Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andric described the bridge in his book "Na drini ćuprija". Actually the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina is a gift of God, full of beautiful hilly - mountainous landscapes, beautiful rivers, rich cultural heritage, historical and ancient cities and buildings. Sincerely from my Bosnia and Herzegovina :-).
